Watch Dogs 2 Update 1.06 Today on PS4 Brings Crash Fixes, Improved Multiplayer App Reliability

To help fix issues with crashing, reliability of the Multiplayer App, activity frequency, and players being able to detect Hackers through walls, Ubisoft released Watch Dogs 2 update 1.06 today for PlayStation 4. An Xbox One version of the patch should arrive either today or tomorrow.

Here’s the changes brought with update 1.06 on PS4:

Online Performance

  • [Performance] Game Crashing – This patch will have various crash fixes for a smoother gameplay experience.
  • [Online & Multiplayer] Seamless Online – Players should now experience improved reliability of seamless online and matchmaking through the Multiplayer App.
  • [Multiplayer] Activity Frequency – This patch fixes the issue of the cooldown resetting after a player dies while being the target of a hack during Online Invasions. Players should now experience regular cooldown times and a normal frequency of getting hacked during their gameplay.
  • [Online Invasions] Target Detecting Hackers through walls using NetHack – Some players reported being able to detect Hackers through walls using NetHack during Online Invasions. This bug is fixed in this patch.

The Xbox One version of the patch will also address HUD and Main Menu elements being cut off on certain screens by adding a new frame size slider option. They add, “Workaround: Reboot your console and go back to the Main Menu, or disconnect and Fast Travel to another location. This workaround may not work for all players. Our team is currently investigating a fix for this for an upcoming patch.”

In the Known Issues section of the forums, Ubisoft notes that they’re aware of performance drops when playing online.

Watch Dogs 2 released for PC today. A patch will be released for it later this week.
