If you’ve been gaming on PlayStation platforms since the brand’s inception, then chances are you’re familiar with the SOCOM franchise by now defunct studios, Zipper Interactive and Slant Six Games. While the last SOCOM game, SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, did see an appearance last generation on the PlayStation 3, it sadly didn’t quite live up to the franchise’s tactical roots.
In this week’s Top 5 Tuesday video, PlayStation LifeStyle takes a look at the top five reasons why SOCOM needs to make a comeback. And yes, we know about H-Hour: World’s Elite and mention it, too.
For those wondering, it’s been almost six years since we last saw the franchise, so the time really is ripe to announce a new entry or a reboot, no? What do you think? Should Sony revive SOCOM once again? Or should they let it stew more or just keep it buried forever and let other publishers take a stab at a similar game?
