EA CFO Blake Jorgensen spoke at today’s Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference where he was able to give a few comments on the upcoming sequel to Star Wars Battlefront as well as other upcoming EA games.
While Star Wars Battlefront 2 has yet to be officially announced and named, the company has confirmed that the sequel to the 2015 remake is already in development and Jorgensen noted that it will be “dramatically larger” than the original. He didn’t specify which aspect of the game would be larger though.
While the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront featured characters from the original trilogy of Star Wars movies such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as well as 2016’s Star Wars: Rogue One in the game’s final expansion, Jorgensen said that the sequel will feature “a lot of new characters” from the newer Star Wars movies.
Additionally, apart from the expected multiplayer mode inherited from the 2015 title, Star Wars Battlefront 2 will also a feature a single-player campaign, which is being developed by Motive Studios. The Canada-based, EA-owned studio founded by Assassin’s Creed alumnus Jade Raymond.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is expected to come out sometime later this year and we should expect to see more teasers and information from EA as the game’s launch draws closer.
