First released on February 28, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold through more than 2.6 million copies to consumers worldwide, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today. This makes Horizon the best-selling new first-party IP on PlayStation 4 to date, as well as Guerrilla’s biggest debut ever.
In his statement about the success of Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst said they’re working on an expansion to the story:

Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development. This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.

As Sony notes, the more than 2.6 million copies sold includes physical sell-through quantities and digital version sales through the PlayStation Store, as of March 12 (in North America and Europe; March 13 in Japan).
Back in May 2016, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End sold 2.7 million copies in its first week.
