With Take-Two set to release their fiscal year 2017 report early tomorrow morning, Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been delayed from fall 2017 to spring 2018.
As Rockstar explained on their website, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the first game they’ve built from the ground up for the latest generation of consoles, some extra time is needed to deliver the best possible experience, and more game details are coming this summer:
This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer.
When Red Dead Redemption 2 launches in spring 2018, it will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
