Resident Evil 2 Remake Will Be Out “Soon,” Says Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi

Officially confirmed to be in development back in August 2015, Resident Evil 2 Remake should be out “soon.” That’s according to Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who served as a programmer on the 1998 release and recently worked as a producer on the CG animated movie, Resident Evil: Vendetta.

In an interview with Collider, Kobayashi was asked if there were any upcoming projects that fans could look forward to, and he responded with the following:

The only thing I can tell you is about something that’s already out in the public. Resident Evil 2, a remade version, the game, will be out from Capcom soon.

How “soon” is anybody’s guess but we do have quite a few events coming up this year so stay tuned.

The idea of Resident Evil 2 Remake was first discussed back in 2012 when Capcom said that it’d be willing to consider it should there be enough fan demand but the project was officially approved in 2015.

It was recently revealed that Capcom also has an unannounced Resident Evil project in the works.

We’ll update our readers when we have more info.
