Cuphead Isn’t Coming to PS4, Developer Confirms

On NeoGAF, Cuphead developer StudioMDHR revealed that their upcoming Xbox One and PC title is exclusive to those platforms and won’t be coming to PlayStation 4.

Asked by a user if Cuphead is 100% lifetime exclusive to Xbox and PC, StudioMDHR’s Tyler Moldenhauer, who goes by Teeth on NeoGAF, replied:

Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after). There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever).

We own the Cuphead IP.

In a follow-up with Eurogamer, StudioMDHR’s Ryan Moldenhauer confirmed that Cuphead is a console exclusive for Xbox One and “there will be no PS4 version.”

Cuphead releases on September 29 for Xbox One and PC. You can watch the trailer above, with the description below:

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.

Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Since StudioMDHR owns the Cuphead IP, are you hoping that a potential sequel comes to PS4?
