Destiny 2 Director Luke Smith to Deliver PAX West 2017 Keynote

Penny Arcade has announced that Destiny 2 director Luke Smith will kickoff PAX West 2017 with a “Storytime” keynote. Other newly confirmed panels include Gearbox Software taking a look inside the company, Monolith Soft further detailing Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and CD Projekt RED doing a 10th anniversary celebration for The Witcher.

“Luke Smith has been around the block, and I can’t wait to pick his brain about it,” said Penny Arcade co-founder Jerry Holkins. “I’m also going to see if they need writers over there at Bungie, because I’ve written a lot of fan fiction under various pseudonyms and I’ve got a ton of great ideas.”

Here’s the official rundown of what other panels attendees can expect to see at PAX West 2017:

Smith joined Bungie in 2007, two years after publishing a feature titled “Broken Halo: Five Ways Bungie Can Fix Halo 2” during his time as News Editor at 1UP.com. Since then, he has worked on Halo: Reach and Destiny as a systems designer, in addition to acting as the lead designer for Destiny’s raids and the creative director for both Destiny: The Taken King and Destiny 2.

Additional panels taking place at PAX West 2017 include Gearbox Software’s “Inside Gearbox,” Monolith Soft’s “Middle Earth: Shadow of War,” and CD Projekt RED’s “Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of The Witcher.” A full schedule of panels taking place at the show can be found here. Gamers unable to attend PAX West 2017 can watch panels live on Twitch.

PAX West 2017 will also feature a wealth of exhibitors, including Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Bethesda, Bandai Namco, and other major publishers, in addition to an array of well-known and up-and-coming independent developers showcasing their latest projects in the expo halls.

PAX West 2017 takes place September 1-4. The event is sold out.
