Twitter user Tino Hahn has posted an image from German magazine GamesMarkt that appears to leak THQ Nordic’s New IP ahead of its planned Gamescom 2017 debut. Called Biomutant, the game’s brief description matches what the publisher teased recently i.e. it’ll be a brand new open-world RPG “set in a unique universe and will be a post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable.” You can check out the full image below.
The game’s developer is Experiment 101 (or X101). According to Eurogamer, the studio was set up in 2015 by former Avalanche (Just Cause) creative director Stefan Ljungqvist, who recently wrote on LinkedIn:
We will be demoing the studio’s first title on the show floor at Gamescom – an open world action RPG not like anything you’ve seen or played before. We’ve been hard at work on this for some time and I am happy to finally be able to share it. Really looking forward to it. Made with UE4.
Sounds like he’s referring to Biomutant.
According to the image above, the game is headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC early next year.
We’ll update our readers when we have more info and official details.
