Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Screenshots Show Off the Futuristic MMO

Bandai Namco has released a batch of screenshots for their upcoming continuation of the Sword Art Online series, Fatal Bullet. These screenshots show off the new pseudo-MMO this title takes place in, named Gun Gale Online. As expected from the game name, this is going to be a more futuristic game world.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will be the first game in the series that will let you make your own avatar. Here’s more on that:

Once the player has created their own avatar, you will be logged into GUN GALE ONLINE (GGO) to take part in an incredible adventure joined by Kureha and Zeliskam – the mysterious woman. You will also be helped by ArFA-Sys (Artificial Financial Adviser System). This new support AI addition will be extremely powerful and important to the player during the journey to GGO. This character will have different types, with Type-X being obtainable by the player. You will have the chance to customise various options to suit the player’s preference. Type-X will develop in game offering not only help in battles, but with assets and items.

There’s a bit more on character customization too:

For the first time in a SAO game the main protagonist won’t be one of the famous anime character but will be the player himself with his own personal avatar. This new feature will be fully supported by several customization options like: gender, appearance and status (STR, VIT, INT, AGI, DEX and LUK) that will affect the combat style and his own adventure that can take a different path of Kirito one.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will release next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
