One of Destiny 2’s most competitive endgame activities is being canceled for two weeks while Bungie solves an issue with “emote glitching.” Destiny 2 Trials of the Nine usually takes place each weekend, but is not forecast to return until November 3 due to this issue. Bungie revealed this in their weekly update.
Trials of the NineAs a follow-up to reported incidents of emote glitching in the Crucible, we are investigating a fix that we plan to deploy during the first week of November. In the meantime, the next two instances of Trials of the Nine will be postponed. Please stay tuned for updates. We will provide more information as it becomes available. At this time the next instance of Trials of the Nine is forecasted to resume on November 3, 2017.
The November 3 resume date coincides with the first time that PC players will get a chance to play Trials of the Nine after next week’s PC release of the game. If there are other issues that are discovered, or if a fix is not able to be implemented, Bungie may postpone Trials even further. The emote glitch referenced above is likely a glitch that uses certain emotes to glitch through walls and into unintended out of bounds areas, potentially giving players an unfair advantage while playing competitively.
Bungie has acknowledged that feedback regarding the endgame has been heard, and they are working to find the best solutions as they move forward.
