Final Fantasy Dissidia NT DLC

Rinoa Heartilly Is the Newest Final Fantasy Dissidia NT DLC Character

Earlier this month, we reported on a Final Fantasy Dissidia NT character announcement coming from Square Enix. We wrote that “the game’s official Twitter account has announced that a new character for the fighting game will be revealed next week” and that the character is supposed to be “a new female character from the newer half of numbered Final Fantasy titles that will appear in each game as a playable character for the first time in the Dissidia series.” The announcement has come and the new character was revealed to be Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII. Check out the announcement trailer above.

Looking at the trailer, Rinoa Heartilly seems to retain the design and many of the moves featured in her iteration of Final Fantasy. She even has her trademark angel wings on her back, which she can effectively use in her Angel Wing limit break, which seems to make a return in Final Fantasy Dissidia NT. According to Gematsu, the blaster edge wielder will join Final Fantasy Dissidia NT at the end of August, whereas Japanese arcades will receive her in its first July update.

In April of this year, Square Enix released its first of what’s supposed to be six Final Fantasy Dissidia NT DLC characters, Vayne Carudas Solidor from Final Fantasy XII. Rinoa Heartilly follows after Final Fantasy VI‘s Locke Cole and is only the third DLC character of six. The other three are planned to release in October and December of this year, with the last one scheduled for February 2019.

Final Fantasy Dissida NT is available now for Japanese arcades and PlayStation 4.
