Japanese Sales Chart: Spider-Man Fever Takes Hold in Japan

According to the latest Japanese sales chart for September 17-23, 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man is still very much top dog in the region. It appears that Sony’s game has now sold over 244,000 copies in Japan alone. During this most recent time period, over 38,000 copies of Marvel’s Spider-Man were sold, which includes bundled versions of the game. For a PS4 exclusive, staying atop the chart for three weeks in a row is quite an achievement.

Mind you, Spider-Man is not alone in keeping the PS4 strong in Japan. This week sees another newcomer appear, Steins;Gate Elite. While we won’t see it in other regions until 2019, it seems to be well received at launch in Japan.

On the hardware sales front, things remain the same, with the Nintendo Switch selling the most (just over 37,000 units), and Sony’s PS4 following behind with 11,661 units sold.
