Gran Turismo Sport Update

Gran Turismo Sport’s July Update 1.41 Adds New Cars and Five New Rounds to GT League Events

Gran Turismo Sport is about to get a notable update that will go live on July 31, 2019. Update 1.41 will see the inclusion of new cars, additional features, and more rounds added to GT League events.

Let’s take a closer look at what to expect. The biggest addition to Gran Turismo Sport in July’s update are the cars, which include some fan-favorite classics. The Porsche 911 Turbo is making its way to the series for the first time, while the Honda S800 ’66 and the Mazda Roadster Touring Car can be found in other games in the Gran Turismo series. Below is the full list:

  • Honda Civic Type R (EK) ’98 (N200)
  • Honda S800 ’66 (N100)
  • Jaguar D-type ’54 (Gr.X)
  • Mazda Roadster Touring Car (N200)
  • Porsche 911 Turbo (930) ’81 (N300)

In addition to that, five new rounds will be added to the GT League events. These include two rounds added to the “World Hatchback Championship” and the “Nostalgic 1979,” while one new round will be added to the “X2019 Competition Endurance Series.” Finally, a few new features will be included. One is “Open Spaces – Arrange Your Own Scenes,” which will allow you to customize your own scene with whichever cars you’d like, ranging from various locations across the world.

Although it looks like the game’s latest additions have fans excited, some are disappointed with the lack of the rain weather effect in the game, which the community has been clamoring for since GT Sport’s launch in 2017. In June 2019, we reported that rain might be coming soon, but the feature still has not been added to the game.

We already know a new installment in the Gran Turismo franchise is in the works in some way, and according to series creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, the next game might return back to the series’ roots. Polyphony Digital is likely aiming for a PS5 release with this, but has not confirmed the details of the next Gran Turismo game.

For now, you can still enjoy Gran Turismo Sport with the game’s latest update. What do you think of the new cars? Let us know in the comments!
