A Plague Tale Being Turned Into a TV Series

A Plague Tale TV series is in the works, it has been confirmed. This news was shared by none other than Mathieu Turi, who served as assistant director on Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and is involved in the project. Turi didn’t confirm what capacity he’ll be working in. Cast and production/release information has yet to be announced as well.

A Plague Tale TV series will be close to the game’s setting

According to an article published by French website Allocine, A Plague Tale TV series will be “close” to the game’s setting but no further details have been revealed. Apparently, Asobo and Focus avoided handing the project to US-based production companies in order to ensure that the series remains close to its French roots.

Released in 2019 as A Plague Tale: Innocence, the game received positive reviews and became a commercial success. A sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem, is set to be released sometime this year for the PlayStation 5 among other current-gen platforms.

Opinion: A Plague Tale was a surprise hit

Zarmena writes… A Plague Tale was the biggest surprise of 2019 for me. I expected a middling AA game that I’d enjoy for a few hours but ended up getting sucked into a story that was very well-written and a cast whose performance was on par with those you’d find in hit AAA games. A Plague Tale’s setting and soundtrack were equally stellar. I am ecstatic that the game is getting more mainstream recognition. Bring on the TV show!

In other news, The Strong Museum of Play has announced its 2022 World Video Game Hall of Fame finalists, and WB Games has reassured fans that Hogwarts Legacy won’t have microtransactions.
