Assassin’s Creed Mirage Officially Announced, More Details Coming September 10

After a number of leaks let the cat out of the bag early, Ubisoft has now announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the next AC game. More official details on the game will be given during the Ubisoft Forward presentation scheduled for September 10.

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next AC game

Ubisoft tweeted confirmation that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will indeed be the next AC game. The announcement was posted alongside artwork for the game showing a protagonist flying high above a crowd. They are wearing traditional Assassin attire, with a white cloak concealing their identity.

Though no other details have been officially confirmed, leaks that accurately stated the title of “Mirage” contain other information that may also be accurate. This info includes the setting of Baghdad, gameplay that takes things back to basics and that’s inspired by the original AC game, and Eagle Vision making a return.

The leaks expanded upon Ubisoft “taking things back to basics” by explaining that many RPG elements have been removed. These apparently include the cutting of dialogue choices, a gender choice, and no more leveling system.

Assuming the leaks have accurately identified the protagonist of Basim, he’s expected to have a “String Dagger” that he uses to take down his enemies. What’s more, there will reportedly be “Visions of Loki” to explain how Loki manifested into Basim’s body and consumed him.

As for the rumors surrounding a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed, there isn’t yet any official confirmation of this. Leaks suggest that it will be included in the Mirage season pass, so it may also make an appearance at Ubisoft Forward alongside Mirage.

Fans don’t have to wait long to see if more of these leaked details prove accurate. Mirage will be shown during Ubisoft Forward on September 10.
