PS5 software update 22.02-06.50.00 has begun rolling out worldwide, adding support for the DualSense Edge. The “ultra customizable” controller will release on January 26th via PS Direct. It’ll later become available at retailers a month later on February 23rd.
PS5 system update 22.02-06.50.00 also improves system performance
No PS5 system software update would be complete without the good ol’ “system performance” improvements. Sony rarely ever explains what it has improved unless it’s a major update, leaving players to figure out what changes have been made.
For now, these are the complete patch notes available via the system:
- This system software update improves system performance.
- The DualSense Edge wireless controller is now supported.
It’s unclear if the update is available in all regions at the time of this writing or not but it’s begun rolling out in Asia and Europe at least. Looking at the official PlayStation webpage for PS5 firmware updates, we found no mention of this update or any patch notes. We’re assuming Sony will update the page when the West Coast wakes up.
If there’s anything else to add to the above, we’ll make sure to update the article and keep our readers posted. For now, enjoy the small download.
