Looking to grab Horizon Zero Dawn cheap to take advantage of that $9.99 upgrade for the remaster? Well, players planning on doing that digitally may want to get in a car and go to their nearest retailer because Sony recently increased the game’s price to $39.99.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition price increases from $20 to $40
Pointed out on the PS5 subreddit, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition is now $39.99. Prior to the remaster’s recent reveal at the September 2024 State of Play, it cost $19.99.
When Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launches, it will cost $49.99. However, players who already own the seven year old PS4 game can purchase an upgrade for $9.99. If the game was still $19.99 digitally, that meant players could get the PS5 remaster at a $20 discount. It seems Sony knew this would happen, and have increased the PS4 version’s price to match the upcoming remaster when player’s would eventually upgrade.
However, its not all doom and gloom for players interested in getting Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered at a discount. Anyone who owns a disc copy of the PS4 game can still upgrade for $9.99. According to a recent PlayStation Blog post, owners of a disc copy can access the offer by simply inserting it into the PS5.
Currently at GameStop, the base version of Horizon Zero Dawn is $9.99. Players could just grab that base version, and upgrade to the remaster at a total cost of around $20. It doesn’t seem like players have to get the Complete Edition (which costs $19.99), so unless its the only one available in the area, we recommend just grabbing the cheapest copy.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launches on October 31, 2024, for PS5 and PC. Taking full advantage of new hardware, the remaster features enhanced visuals, audio, and DualSense support. Despite feedback, PC players need a PSN account to access the game.
