Alien: Isolation 2 Release Date Could Be Targeting PS6

Yesterday, Creative Assembly surprised players by announcing Alien: Isolation 2 (or whatever the sequel will be called), but its release date seems to be a ways away. The announcement, which came a decade after the first game launched on the PS3 and PS4, came with the caveat that the sequel is in “early development,” leading to speculations that it’ll be targeting the PS6.

Alien: Isolation 2 release date won’t be anytime soon

2014’s Alien: Isolation launched to an overall positive reception, but its sequel seemed like a pipe dream. The game garnered quite a following, with fans continuously demanding another entry over the years, but they were met with silence from Sega and eventually started losing hope.

“It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness your passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world,” Creative Assembly said in a statement. “On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear.”

The studio went on to confirm Alien: Isolation 2, and said that it’ll share more when the team is ready. Considering the game is in early development, it’ll likely be a cross-gen PS5 and PS6 game, at the very least. The first game launched a year after the PS4’s release but launched on the PS3 as well. If this is any indication, expect a similar pattern for Alien: Isolation 2.
