A known leaker has revealed that the PS Portal is finally coming in a new color soon, and in an initially limited quantity. Trusty Dealabs insider billbil-kun is on track to leak almost all of Sony‘s upcoming plans before they are officially announced, and this time, they’re claiming that the PS Portal will be available in black color.
When will PS Portal become available in black?
Unlike their recent leaks, billbil-kun is unable to confirm when Sony plans to launch PS Portal in black, but did say that it’ll be priced the same as the original white variant. The handheld launched a year ago in a color that matches the standard PS5, and the only variant it’s received thus far is the highly limited PlayStation 30th anniversary edition in grey.
In other words, PS Portal’s upcoming release will be its first variant in a different color. It’s unclear why Sony plans to launch it in limited quantity, but billbil-kun’s report suggests that it’ll be restocked depending on demand, so perhaps Sony doesn’t want to overproduce.
As for its regional availability, the report claims that PS Portal black variant will be available worldwide. Additionally, Sony has “other hardware and accessories” in the works, but billbil-kun didn’t elaborate further.
