A Microsoft insider has claimed that the days of Xbox exclusivity are pretty much over, and reckons that Fable PS5 launch will happen eventually. According to Windows Central editor Jez Corden, Fable has been “monstrously expensive” to make, and it’ll only be a matter of time before it releases on PlayStation.
Fable might not launch on PS5 day one, but it’s likely timed exclusive
Corden was responding to a tweet about upcoming Xbox first-party games when he said that “Xbox won’t have exclusives going forward,” and that any exclusives the platform does get from here on out are likely to be “timed exclusive at most.”
When another X user expressed doubt that games like Fable would make the jump, Corden opined that considering how expensive Fable is, it’ll only be a matter of time before it lands on PlayStation.
Corden, who initially refused to believe that Xbox exclusives will ever release on PlayStation, now says that the $75.4 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard has necessitated growth. It certainly doesn’t help that Xbox hardware has flatlined. “When you’re a giant company with trillions in market cap, flat isn’t viable,” Corden added.
Fable is scheduled for release in 2025. In the meantime, PS5 due to receive a port of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
